Rubber Boots

We are up in Spruce Grove for a week of work and relaxation! Sounds like an oxymoron, but really, I don't consider this work. Spending time with family and working around the yard is one of those things that just go hand in hand. Because it has been raining, I finally had a reason to buy my first pair of rubber boots! I've always wanted some, and finally will be able to put them to good use!

Finding Farley

We have just finished watching a new documentary called Finding Farley. I am incredibly excited to embark on our adventure. It does not seem nearly as dramatic, and difficult, however I am more excited than ever to get back to Nature. To be able to bond with the animals and land the way that people through out history have been able to will be an amazing experience!
I am blow away by the things that this family has experienced, as well as what they were able to handle. Going on such a long journey with a small child and a dog would have been extremely difficult. The strength it would have taken to continue on through the flies and rough weather, is admirable.
Watching this documentary has made me feel even more dedicated to continuing our own adventure and living the lifestyle that we are excited to live. I am going to do my best to read all of the books that Farley Mowat has written, because I am interested to see if our ideals are along the same lines. I will keep you posted with my opinions as I read the books!

And so it begins.....

As we prepare to set off on our big adventure, we decided that we needed a way to keep all of our friends and family updated on our progress! We have June, July and August to get all of our stuff packed up and ready to go, as well as prepare the house we are moving into! I am excited to be able to simplify our life and get back to the basics. To be able to grow our own food, and take life back to the way it should be, will be an amazing experience. I can't wait for it to begin!
